NC Coolant flush

My coolant level was low so I topped up with some blue antifreeze that I had in my garage.

After doing some reading, I found that my 2014 NC uses FL22 only and coolants should NOT be mixed.

Im planning on doing a coolant flush for peace of mind. I can only find FL22 from mx5parts.co.uk, so can I use Comma G30 as an alternative?

I appreciate that there is only a £7 difference between FL22 and Comma, however if I ever need to “top up” Comma is easier to source.

As far as I’m aware you can use either type - although, as you’ve discovered, not both types at the same time!

I believe that Mazda use FL22 in the factory because it has an 11 year change interval, unlike the “regular” type of antifreeze which needs to be changed much more frequently (on vehicles which I previously owned I used to change the coolant every two years).

We sell Comma at work and contacted them direct so happy to use Comma with the response I got seems to have all the same agents. The only difference is 11years interval but thats only from new and I think it’s 5 years after that anyway.
