It goes inside the rubber seal the window slides against. Using the curtain wire bulks out the seal which over time has gone flat.
Using the window to push open or close the door doesn’t help, it’s mainly wear and tear on the drivers side door and glass, obviously gets used more.
Well that seemed to work and was so easy. In an ideal world black is better as can just seen the white if you are looking for it.
just done this, only took about half of the 1m of wire i got. no more rattle. only thing I’m a bit concerned with is the seal now stands a little proud of the glass so may let more water into the door, but I suppose it will just run out the bottom.
also swapped the wiper switch for the variable speed intermitent.
The weather strip along the top of the door is to prevent any crud getting down into the door void. It wasn’t intended to keep it water tight just deflects most of it running through there.
I think I need to do mine again on the drivers side, got a slight rattle appeared but only occasionally.
GAVE IT A GOOD CLEAN WITH SILICON SPRAY AND SEEMS TO HAVE SETTLED DOWN OK NOW WINDOW HAS BEEN UP AND DOWN A FEW TIMES
