NC EGR Valve - sourcing a replacement

It is the MK1 - MK2.5 cars that have the ECU under the passenger carpet and all the water ingress associated problems.

Does the MK3/MK3.5 have similar issues - I thought the ECU position and water resistant shrouding would have protected them far better?

It won’t be an ecu problem…i’ll guarantee that

I wasn’t expecting that to be the issue, but cheers for the heads up.Smile

Thanks for the offer of fitting the valve, but you are a fair trek for me, do you have a valve only inc postage price thanks.

Give me a call on Monday if you want one posting out £75

Ok thanks.

Just spotted this article. I changed my NC EGR a couple of years ago and did a write up https://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/yaf_postsm446323_Exhaust-Gas-Recirc-Valve-on-the-NC-Engine.aspx#post446323

The Mondeo 1.8 petrol EGR is identical to the MX5 NC item except that the stepper motor requires turning through 90 degrees and the small bore water connection is slightly different. The stepper motor can be unscrewed and rotated and the small bore pipe realigned. The Mondeo EGR can be bought on ebay new for less than Ā£50. Or if it’s just the stepper motor faulty they can be swopped. The gasket can also be bought from Ford.

Good tip
