NC front bumper supplier

Long story short, I need a new front bumper for my NC1. There’s no good options on Ebay at the moment, and MX5 Parts isn’t getting any in until late September which is way too long to wait.

Does anyone know of another supplier for a genuine front bumper for an NC1?

Many thanks chaps!

I had to source a new grille for my NC after a pheasant went through it and tried ebay, MX5 Parts etc but either nothing left in stock or very expensive.

Then I tried my local Mazda dealer - in stock at warehouse and arrived 24hrs later - £44!

Give your local dealership a call - you have nothing to lose

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. Sadly they’ve been tried already. £674 is what they quoted for the bumper, £160 more than MX-5 Parts.

You have to wonder how MX5 Parts can sell a genuine bumper significantly cheaper than Mazda ? :open_hands:

You sure do.

It’s not a question I can answer, except to guess that they are receiving better pricing than the dealers as they buy more of these types of parts? They state it as a genuine Mazda part, and all the dealers round my way quote the same £674 price.

Looking at their website, they list the bumper for euro models (plenty in stock) which only differ with the two inserts for headlamp washers. I’d buy that and order the two covers. They’d not be functional, but that wouldn’t bother me if it got me back on the road asap.

It’s quite tempting, and the bumper is also significantly cheaper. I’m not sure how the covers work though?

Because we don’t have the gubbins behind the bumper, I’d say it would be a relatively easy job of bonding the covers into place. The paint shop that will be spraying it should be up to the task.

Overheads.
MX5parts don’t have a pristine swanky glass walled showroom stuffed with brand new cars and some leggy blonde sat at a desk twiddling a pen, nor a tiled servicing bay with 10 two post lifts and equipment, insurance, heating etc.

I’m not so sure. I don’t actually see these covers anywhere, do you see them?

I also think it will cost a bit extra to get the holes filled, making the cost the same as just getting the proper bumper. Might be one of those things that seems better in theory than in practice.

Might be worth contacting MX5city - whilst they don’t have one listed in stock, I know they turn stock over frequently.

Have you tried any of the national car breaker websites e.g www.247spares.co.uk , www.breakerlink.co.uk etc (others are available)

The idea is that you list the part you are looking for on one of these sites which are linked to car breakers across the country. Any one that has the part you are looking for should reply and, where appropriate, provide pictures of the part.

I have not used this for my NC but have for my (now my sons) 2000 NB.

Nope, haven’t tried those yet, thanks for that! I saw those sites but I wasn’t sure if there were legit or not. Good to hear they are.

I tried them but they only have new at this moment. Great shout though and I’ll definitely try them again in the future.
