NC Galaxy Grey

Hi all, this might seem like a daft question, but i am going to ask it anyway. What is the best wax to use on a Galaxy Grey NC?. I wash it every week, snow foam, wash, polish and wax, but i am looking for something that will make it stand out. I use Meguiars and G3 products. Would Carnauba wax be a better finish?.

I have tried loads and the best I have found by a long shot is a wax called soft 99 its about £25 and is brilliant the beading is great and the application is so easy

It’s turned Galaxy Grey, Black!

That’s how good the wax is you want to see what it does to a red car

As nice as that black car is, mine wont shine like that, its more of a satin finish.

Lighter colours tend to be more reflective with a Sealant rather than by wax

My car is white. I use a ceramic sealant called Gyeon

The shine and protection is superb

There is useful information here, just choose your paint colour from the list.

I have a metallic grey VW Golf that I use the more expensive Blackfire kit on, it is very easy to apply and wipe off and gives a really good finish (in my opinion).

It is also recommended for soft paint finishes, which Mazda paints apparently are, due to the ease of application and removal.

Galaxy Grey is a metallic paint with a clear lacquer, so with the right treatment you can achieve a “wet look” shine

Being a mean old git I just use Halfords own brand on my Meteor grey Venture. Looks good enough, and soon gets dirty again

Thanks for all the replies. I usually snowfoam, wash, polish and wax every weekend. Most of the products i use are either meguiars or G3. I recently bought some Meguiars Carnauba wax and i have to say it is very good. As soon as i get a full weekend off work, i will be claying the car then going through the whole detailing process.

I’m a  Meguiars convert following a detailing morning at their HQ in Daventry. Used their Ulitmate range compound, polish & wax and and am pretty pleased with the result.

I also now wash regularly with the Ultimate wash & wax which also I think gives a good result.

Happy detailing ??

I’m using Finishkare 1000p high temp wax on my Galaxy Grey NC1

Its not rained yet so cant comment on beading, but I asked for it as a birthday present after I’d read loads of good reviews
it went on really easy and buffed off nicely
Before this I was using butter wet wax which is really easy to apply but didnt last that long - I wash the car maybe once a month

Hi, I have a white one too. Would you recommend the Gyeon to the Super resin polish ? So is the sequence, rinse, foam, rinse, dry, polish, sealant ?

The biggest problem with gray or sliver cars is getting a “popping” deep shine. I use and have used most of my car owning life Simoniz Original Car Wax at currently 8.50 a tin. The finish is great all be it a little hard to get off, but for the price cannot complain.
