Completely agree with Mick. This is exactly how I changed my thermostat. Its not difficult, just fiddly. Driving it up on ramps before you start also makes it less of an issue getting at it. Just be careful removing the hard to see bolt, as it seems to be the one that corrodes and is easy to break if you put too much force on it.

Is FL22 not the Mazda recommended coolant. Why bother with anything else ?
its a lot thicker than the coolant currently used so the pump will struggle somewhat to move the fluid… and since the pump is relatively old you may cause issues when you don’t actually have one…
use FL22 mate,
