NC seat colour

What is your view on the seat colour (light stone?) of the venture and the 25th anniversary compared to the standard black leather?

I am struggling to make up my mind whether I like it or not - also is it prone to dirt/grime?

if you were buying an NC - what colour leather would you go for or would you not care and buy on the overall car?

A 25th anniversary looks superb, but the colour of the seat faces and door cards is putting me off

Depends whether you are a cleaning freak like me.  A lighter colour will most likely need more work on the cleaning side of things, more so than black, both colours can look grubby if not cleaned though.

It’s your choice of car and colour after all, what you like/dislike.

I had an estate car years ago and I loved the interior, all cream leather, it took some looking after to keep it looking good as it was a daily driver.

I guess the leather facings themselves, get the same wear regardless of colour, attracting the same dirt and abrasion. It’s the keeping clean and looking nice that increases more with light colours. Personally, I do like the light colours, and against certain body colours, look amazing  I wouldn’t be put off by the colour if the car overall was excellent. When I had my seats recovered I decided I’d get some slip on seat covers to protect them in everyday use but still haven’t got round to buying any  that might be the solution.

I have no problem keeping my Sport Venture Stone seats clean in fact because I use it for work and I am a carpenter they are easier to clean than my MK1 with black leather they show up all the dust, I would say that any leather seat should be cleaned often to stop any damage from dirt building up.

The 25th AE seats are not the same Stone colour as the Venture they are a lighter cream I think personally they look better than black.

Also if you buy the 25th AE make sure you join the 25th AE facebook group they a great bunch and go on runs together picture below is my Sport Venture and my brothers 25th AE

Our Niseko came with brown leather and at first I was not impressed, but fortunately it don’t show any dirt!

I only discovered how grubby the driver’s seat was compared with the passenger seat when I went over them with some leather conditioner, and the cloth came up grey-brown from the driver’s seat and clear from the passenger seat.  Both are now gleaming and squeaky clean.  The steering wheel looks much better now as well.

It was pointed out to me that this was clear proof my passengers are not stressed by my driving…

My Kuro has Stone Colour seats. To be honest I much prefer it over black as it brightens up the interior which can look a bit like a sea of black to me.

I’ve not had a problem keeping them looking good but I am somewhat of a clean freak. A quick wipe over with a leather cleaner / wipe on a regular basis is all you really need.

Only issue I have had is when the misses has sometimes worn bright coloured clothes where the dye has left a mark. I’ve always been able to remove any trace of it though.

If you keep your cars generally clean then I don’t see that you would have a problem. After all your only cleaning the fascia’s of two seats. Sometimes just one if the passengers seat hasn’t been used much

Love the original cream, like said regardless of colour it wear & tear that spoils them.I opted to have mine redone by seatsurgeons  in black with red cross stiching.Loved them at 1st but now wish id just got plain black.Or just bought a decend original MX5 set.

I think now that i got recovers, they just look tacky after the novelty wore off. Will repace them if a decent set @ a fair price come along. Will still keep my Royal Steering Wheel, now that wasnt money wasted.

I have cream/stone on my 2007 ZSport and love it and had similar colour in an RX8, easy to clean. Certain denim jeans can leave marks after a while but cleans off easily enough.
