Nc1 Bose stereo radio loses signal

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __
  2. I’m based near: __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __
  4. Nc1 Bose stereo loses signal has been fine up to a couple of days ago now keeps losing signal and can’t find channels comes on intermittently then drops off again
  5. Can I fit a dab aerial or has something more series packed up
  6. Thanks

A dab aerial won’t solve the problems, you would also need a connection for dab on the radio head unit, these HU’s don’t.
First call is your current aerial connections, at the unit and the aerial connections too on the rear wing.
Does the unit play CDs ok for instance?

Yes cd works fine
I had a Quick Look at the antenna which is still there and tight , I did read something about an antenna amplifier which I’d like to test if anyone knows how?
I have just ordered a Bluetooth adapter cable so hopefully I can play music from my phone
And I’ll check aerial on the back of radio whilst I fit it
That’s

Whilst you are in the back of the radio - once you have checked the aerial connector - also check if the aerial amplifier feed is 12v when the radio is switched on.

Terminal 1H on the main connector powers the amplifier
It is a Blue wire.
Next to it is a purple/black - this switches on the main amplifier for the speakers.

Thanks for that I took a look today to see if had power up to the amplifier and noticed a bit of water under the aerial at the base and if I grabbed it hard I could get it too move so I took it sealed underneath and cleaned out the amplifier with electrical cleaner which seems to have done the trick for now
Thanks again
