NC2 ABS Pump Failure; has anyone had this issue?

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC2 (2011 Kendo)
  2. I’m based near: South London
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: ABS and stability control lights.

Had amber warning lights on for ABS and stability control. Additionally, the handbrake light is staying on intermittently.

Garage has diagnosed as a faulty ABS Pump. Repairs to unit plus labour totalling £800.

Battery is not showing any signs of being depleted. Lights came on towards the end of a 150 mile journey.

Before I commit, has anyone had a similar issue? And what was the diagnosis?

First thing I would do I buy or borrow an OBD code reader and see for yourself what the car thinks is wrong.

Have you/they checked the brake fluid level? If it is low this can cause the handbrake light to come on (not sure about other warning lights though).

Yes, thank you - I made sure that wasn’t low.

Abs pump failed on my daughter’s Mazda 3. I sent it to some firm in the south of England, pretty sure it was ‘ecu testing’ It cost her about £325 to have it repaired, and £150 for a local mechanic to take it off and refit.
