I am about to replace my ‘22 ND with a new ‘25 model. It’s been a joy and I look forward to further great drives. Just wondering as I have read that the new ICE allows touchscreen on the move. Anyone know if this is the case or does it still lock once moving, relegating everything back to the central control knob?
Certainly on Android Auto you can enable touch screen, haven’t tried with the standard system to be fair.
You mean using AA on the factory screen? If so, then I assume Carplay would also work.
Yes I would think so.
I enabled touchscreen on my new ND for CarPlay and it works perfectly stopped and moving. Mazda Connect only works through the Commander knob. I use CarPlay while driving and Connect for system settings.
Can Mazda connect touchscreen disabled whilst driving be turned off on a 2023 MX-5, the dealership says no but it’s so frustrating to lose Apple Maps every time I get a call
The touchscreen on our 2024 Homura (registered April 24) works with Apple Car Play on the move. I was led to believe that it would be disabled once on the move. That has not been the case in my experience.
So the new ICE system allows for Car Play and Android Auto to be used on the move as a touchscreen. The previous ICE (which may be what @CXZ4 is using) cannot be disabled.
Having had both, I know which one I prefer!
