Can anyone link a good video that clearly shows how this manifests itself? It would be useful for anyone to be able to check themselves.
You hear it and you know instantly.
With respect, I might hear something but not know what it was. It would be helpful to be able to recognise it as I hope to change to an ND shortly.
You’ll know it when you hear it.
It manifests itself at relatively slow speeds over uneven surfaces, as an annoying rattle from the rear. It can easily be mistaken for something rattling in the boot.
I lived with it for two years before ordering replacement spherical bearings which my local garage fitted with the tool supplied.
I cannot emphasise enough how much more I now enjoy the car.
My ND had only about 30k or so when I started to hear it.
Anyway, a very annoying rumble/rattle from the rear at slow speeds over uneven surfaces is when they need replaced.
I won’t get into warranty etc, not worth the hassle, just buy the aftermarket products and fix it - albeit I agree that it should never have happened in the first place.
Ian I can make a video showing exactly how to check them and send it you on WhatsApp if that helps
Paul, that would be good thanks, we have a tech day coming up so would be useful material.
Once you have checked if they need replacing, this vid shows how to do it.
I think this shows how to check them. Jack car up and grab rear wheel at top and bottom and rock.
