I don’t suppose anyone knows the size or where I could buy a set of LED bulbs to replace the standard reversing bulbs on my SportNav 184+. Been looking everywhere and I can’t find a place to buy them in the UK or I can I just don’t know the size.
Yes, when designed in from the start with adequate cooling they can be excellent. I’ve been using LED lighting in various applications since 2002.
Aftermarket LED car bulb replacements tend to overheat in the confined spaces, and hot LEDs have an extremely short life, tens or hundreds of hours instead of the usual claimed 30,000.
The usual LED chip manufacturers lifespan spec is for a mounting surface operating temperature of less than 55C. There may be several LED bulbs replacing filament car types that can survive, but I’ve yet to find them.
My son put LED bulbs in the reversing lights of his Fiesta and they were working absolutely fine when he sold the car three years later. I put LED in the reversing lights of a Mitsubishi hybrid and they too were working fine when I sold it two years later.
I put reversing LEDs in a Kia Ceed eight months ago and they make a huge difference eight months ago. Similarly, I uprated the reversing light in my ND with a LED. It was v easy to do and certainly made a difference but I can’t vouch for its longevity as that was only three months ago!

All depends on quality. Not car related directly but we have a chandelier on our landing. Not as posh as it sounds I promise! It has 9 candle style bulbs which I replaced with LED bulbs that turned out to be dubious quality. I was changing them at a rate of around one a week until I got fed up and ditched them. Bought a different brand of inexpensive LED bulbs which have been in around three years now. Haven’t had to replace one.
