ND - LED SIDE MARKERS

I bought the side marker LED lights from iJDMToy in smoke finish and fitted them today. The LED is a stripe and matches the iJDMToy fender lights I fitted a month or so ago.

Hi Jeff, where did you source these from, was it the iJDM store?

Yes, they were ÂŁ33 plus shipping and you get stung for ÂŁ8 VAT and post office handling fee of ÂŁ7 from memory.

These are more expensive than MX5Parts BUT the LED light strip is far nicer (in my opinion) than a simple LED bulb used in other suppliers lights.

Can’t post links but go to ijdmtoy.com and search under “LED Light Assembly” and then “LED Side Marker”. They come in clear or smoked. I got the smoked.

Thanks Jeff. I also like the sequential rear led strips they do to. There is a guide on Flyin’ Miata on how to fit them, pretty straight forward, they sell them too.

I currently have the IL smoked side lens fitted, but LED’s would be nice.

I have also fitted the sequential indicators and have an install guide on another MX5 site (MX5Drivers.com) but repeat it here for you . . .

In a massive fettling day, Ian and I set about a list of small jobs - the first one as per the title.

First off, getting the light units out of the car were a bit of challenge.  The culprit was the clip shown in the photo below.  It’s suggested coating the slot with vaseline so that in the future, it should come off easier.

THE clip . . . :( . Note the liberal use of masking tape to protect the paintwork

The greased slot :)

The wiring fitted and the hyper-flash correcting resistor stuck to the top of the light “bulge” out of the way.  You may notice the extra socket which I soldered to the lead to power the new fender lights (see other post)
