Does anyone know whether the ND round leather gear knob, milled stalk and gaiter is interchangeable with the NC’s?
Information online seems to vary with some saying all versions have the same thread, 10mm x 1.25.
Considering MX-5 Parts sell this I would have a stab at yes, they are interchangeable 
Gaiter might be a bit more difficult without having two to compare (which I would have been able to do if we weren’t in lockdown 
).
If the MK4 gear knob fits a MK3:- MX5 Parts £75.47 for the MK4 knob & another £14.17
for the Legend ie. the the gear location indicator.
If we find that it fits all cars I am going to see if I can 3D print a 5 speed legend as that would open so many options up!
That’s pricey…
Anyone know the weight of the nd gear knob?
I purchased the ND gear knob and the separate gear legend silver trim. Fitted perfecly on my NC2. No gaps or alignment issues with the leather gaiter trim below it. It’s a bit heavier (300g) than the NC gear knob which makes it feel better when changing gears. There are two stiching options, red and silver. I went with the silver one to match the silver dash trim I have on mine.
I’m aware this is an old thread but thought it would help someone.

Any one want my ND2 6 speed one almost new No marks or scratches £35.00 + £5.00 shipping that’s at least £35.00 cheaper than MX-5 parts get in contact with me

All MX-5 OEM gear knobs are compatible with every generation, which is very handy and a sensible bit of design consistency from Mazda 
My Jass Sports version has been with me across NA, NC2 and now ND1
