ND roof strap loose

Hey everyone,

I have noticed that one of the straps used to hold the soft top in place when lowering the roof has come loose on my ND1 and keeps popping off what i assume is a rivet. Does anyone else have this issue on an ND1 and have any ideas on what to do to resolve it? I am wondering how i can resolve this at the moment and i believe it may have to be cable ties!

I’ve uploaded images of the soft top strap thats affected as well as the unaffected one, it looks like the one that still works has a piece of plastic in between the strap and rivet.

I would suggest that you drill out the rivet and construct a replacement washer from some plastic sheet, or failing that a suitable metal washer. Then pop rivet it back in place.

You will need something like this Hand Riveter Gun Pop Pot Rivet 2.4 / 3.2 / 4.0 / 4.8mm Heads and 40 Rivets AT961 | eBay UK and the correct size rivet.

If you don’t have all the tools its an easy job you need a road run to Rugby Warwickshire then pop over I do it for you while you have a mug of tea :wink:

I did actually have a rivet gun on me so got this sorted this weekend :slight_smile:
