ND Sportnav Brake disks and Pads

My daughter has an advisory on the front disks and pads on her 2015 ND Sportnav 2.0. I favour Pagid as I’ve found them pretty good on a number of cars. Eurocarparts and the Pagid site only list one disk and it refers to “fitted with performance brakes”. They list 2 types of pad; performance brakes which appear to be retained with pins and normal which have the tabs at the end and are like the ones on her car. The performance disk appears to be the same dimensions as the ones on the car so exactly what are they referring to?

Hi M,
Have a look here FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER] | 2016 ND Shop Manual (hexorcism.com) These are on the 30AE and the standard brakes are here FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER] | 2016 ND Shop Manual (hexorcism.com)
Hope this helps.

Hi MM

That’s a great exploded diagram and the car definitely has the single piston caliper. So are the disks the same - I guess they must be as Pagid do both pads but only one disk which they refer to as for performance brakes.

Went to change the front brakes today with Brembo disks and pads for “non performance brakes” and the pads are totally different and won’t fit the caliper bracket. They only list 2 types of front pads - one fit Advics and one for Brembo. I’ve got the Advics ones according to the Brembo brakebook which eurocarparts list as the non performance ones. So, do standard Sportnavs have Brembo brakes?

Also, one of the slider pins in the front calipers has a rubber seal around it at the end. Never seen that before and the rear caliper pins are just plain. Why the seal?

Thanks for the pages - that’s the manual I’ve been using and it is excellent. It’s definitely the single piston set-up and the pads are listed by Brembo as for the ND but as you can see the lug is significantly wider on the new pad and the friction area significantly smaller in both directions - doesn’t show well in the pic but the new pad has a step at each end

That’s them I reckon. Have ordered them from Halfords delivered at £35 for delivery tomorrow against £60 at eurocarparts. Can’t understand why they are so expensive these days. Halfords even undercut them recently by 50% for Qashqai disks and pads.
