These locking wheel nutes (size and thread).
Will these fit? or will they not fit?
if yes - why
if not - why

Might depend on your wheels. My OEM nuts (normal and locking) couldn’t go back on when I changed to OZ wheels because they needed tapered nuts. Disclaimer: BBR told me this, and it’s coming from memory.
ah, get your point.
ok what i meant was…
M12x1.25 thread
No.
ND wheel nut thread is M12x1.5
Pretty sure it’s 25357 you’re looking for, if you’re after some McGard locking nuts.
the answer i wanted thank you
i didnt want to lead the answer with the question.
so these didnt fit. immediately felt like they were going to cross-thread. (at the time i didnt know what the thread pattern was on the mx5. i just bought what i was instructed to buy, and assumed what arrived was correct).
spoke to the supplier and they were really good and said they would send out anther set. but, we couldnt seem to agree as to the ‘why’… unless i was mis-hearing, they were saying it was the ‘‘right packaging, but the wrong product in the box’’.
when i said the box said 1.25, it should be 1.5 they didnt seem to concur…
i’ll go back to them. i just wanted someone else to come to the same conclusion as me before i argued my case a little harder
cheers
A similar question has been asked here before and a comprehensive answer was given on the nut size relevant to the date. (It changed at some point, but I can remember when.)
David
Nut size options are 17 & 21mm depending on Model Year. But my understanding is that the nut thread size remained the same at M12x1.5.
you might have better search skills than me. looking for thread sizes of 1.25 or 1.5 only has a couple of hits on this forum, and most pre-date when the ND was even a fart in someones brain!
if you find it please share. sounds like it might be useful
The thread size is definitely M12x1.5. The taper angle differs depending on the make of wheels. The outside nut size also depends on the wheels, as some have a narrower entrance for a socket and require tuner type nuts.
Hope that helps.
Search does not seem to turn up the thread that I remember. But this one mentions the two nut sizes.
