ND2 Removing infotainment unit

  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __removal of infotainment unit

Help! I’m in the process of installing a rear view camera and need to remove the infotainment unit, it’s a job I’ve done before with no issues on my last ND1, but this time I can’t get the unit to budge, all the trim is off, the 10mm bolt is removed, and the unit unclips OK, but something is stopping it from coming away from the dash? Anyone else had this issue or can anyone recommend a solution please?

Have you seen this Mazda MX-5 miata ND RF Backup camera Installation video years 2016-2018 - YouTube It shows that the cowl over the instruments has to be released to let the screen come out. Some of the clips did require some controlled force.

I did this install on our 30th AE and did not have any problems.

Yes, that’s the video I’m following, everything has gone great up to now, just seems to be something holding the unit back still, almost like the cables are to short to allow to be fully removed?

Issue sorted, there was a metal clip catching on the back of the unit, all sorted now :+1:
