On the 7th through to the 10th of September, my company is competing in the White Hat Rally raising money for Barnardos. This year my firm, Hedgehog Security, is the platinum sponsor and I have put on a hill climb day on the 4th of October as the prize for winning teams in the rally. The event is at the historic Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb circuit. Sound great right? So I’ve run into a couple of snags. The biggest being due to many companies Anti Bribery policy places are not filling up as we initially thought, so there is a good possibility there will be some spare places.
So, if there are any 5OC members out there that fancy it, pop your names down and we will fill the empty places up with names selected at random.
Oh, this is a free event, corporate style, not a race event. We have helmets but there is no need for overalls, gloves and boots.
If you wish to donate anything to Barnardos on the day then they will be very gratefully received.
About the event:
Starting at Shelsley Walsh at 0930 for a briefing, breakfast, and walk of the hill
Instruction with race instructors until lunch
Timed competition in after lunch
We are putting on 2 standard MX5 (mk2’s) and our very own Mixie5 so if you don’t want to run your own 5 you are very welcome to use ours.
Please add Jayne and I to the list provided we only need a helmet. We would be sharing the car if that is not going to be a problem. If so then Jayne will do it and I will take photos.
Scratch us from the list. I just went to add it to the calendar and realised that the MX5 is booked in to have its underside Dinitrol’ed that week. Shame - it would have been good fun. Jayne did the driving school there once in the MX5 and had a hoot of a time
Hi Peter, if there is availability I would certainly be interested, may be tempted to run my mk1 up the hill, all though she is more use to being polished and caressed than raced up a hill !
