Toy-grade old stock Gate and Kyosho diecasts now fetch ridiculous values (in comparison to their quality). A new, more accurate, 1/18 model, in resin, is inn development by Ignition Model. Judging by their other products, this looks to be equisate.
At the NEC Restoration Show, a seller was asking £120 for a boxed Gate model in mariner blue (10 years ago, MX5parts used to charge around £18 for this). I paid £50 for a Kyosho V-Spec missing a door mirror and a wiper blade…
Thanks for the links Andy, seems you get what you pay for. Cost me £105 for a cast model of the 1960 Chevy Impala (from the States) about ten years ago, only one I could find. These I.G. models are very good, close to the real thing, but not something I can afford these days. Pity.
Do my eyes deceive me, on those (apparent) catalogue pages - scrolling down - is that a model of a 787B but in three different liveries? Googled can’t translate this part, but it looks like a 787B to me.
I can’t vouch for every model, but just downloaded a Japanese Dealers offer on a 1973 Z30, and it’s identical with possible exception of the wheels - which aren’t shown. That’s on offer at just over £4,000. plus of course shipping and UK transition charges. 54Kkm. 2.8L with turbo charger. Looks in reasonable nick.
IIRC - some models are based on JDM Clubs popular mods, so you may be right on that one.The NA prototype looks fine to me, but you have to wait for the finished version. My collection is extremely limited, based entirely on cars I owned previously which I really liked, otherwise I’d have spent a fortune if I bought everything. Not really interested in a model of an NA,NB,NC or ND - which they haven’t caught up to yet, but when you’ve got the real thing why would you want a model of it?
YMMV!
