Anyone looked at the new tax rates from April, my 06 nc3 is by my reckoning going to cost £2000 plus a year to tax……am I right……this is horrific !!!
No idea where you got that information but I’m pretty sure it’s wrong. It depends on your emissions but is basically going up by the rate of inflation. Have a look here.

Hi Paul, an NC 2.0 is rated for 181g/km so is band I and currently £335, that is going up by inflation… The £2000 number is the usual clickbait, if you are looking at a brand new and pricey motor then 2k is a starter payable on first registration.
Yes that is the first year tax (when new) you’ve been looking at, I fell for that one a while back when looking at tax on a proposed SH car purchase.
Look at, on the government website, the second and subsequent years of VED costs taking into account any increases planned this year, as stated in an above post it’s currently £335+ any rises.
There are two bands for the 2.0 NC1
The SE with 5 speed box is £335
The Sport with 6 speed box is £385 because it is just 1g/km in to the higher band
