- My model of MX-5 is: NC2 2010 PRHT
- I’m based near: Hampshire
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Drop Links
Hello,
I recenlty installed a set of coilovers onto my NC mx5. However I am running stock drop links. After lowering the car I was wondering if I needed to run shorter drop links?
Can I order oem drop links but find a set that are 1" shorter or do I need to shell out £100 for some adjustable.
TIA
I ordered stock ones from Bofi. £25 for a pair and Roddisons fitted them with my Meisters last week.
It’s not lowered drastically though, so standard links ok.

Yes you should really. Get the car at normal ride height and then make the roll bar parallel with the ground.
I use these and haven’t had an issue so far, £45, looks like out of stock right now, but maybe message them.
Ideally you would set your ride heights etc. with both antiroll bars disconnected. Then you try fitting the rollbar, if the drop links don’t line up then you need adjustable ones.

Ideally to setup those coilovers properly you would want corner weighting done, adjustable drop links would be needed to ensure no preload on the suspension from the roll bar, each corner will be different lengths.
If not corner weighting then yeah some shorter ones will be better, but not ideal.
