New exhaust fit - gasket sealant or not?

As per title - I’m fitting a new stainless cat-back system next weekend.  All new gaskets supplied - but do I need a smear of exhaust putty stuff on the gaskets, or not?   It’s a Cobalt system from Mo$$.  Thanks!

I put a Cobalt rear box on my mk3.5 earlier this spring. The supplied gasket sealed without any exhaust putty stuff!

Richard.

My Cobalt cat back has been on the mk1 for nearly seven years. Dry gasket fitted.

The kit is so well made that it would only take moments to unbolt the joints to add a smear of assembly compound should a leak be detected.

Great choice of zorst

Don’t think the Cobalt system has slip joints, but Mongoose told me, while they were doing some warranty work on my 19 year old exhaust (lifetime guarantee), don’t use exhaust paste; use blue silicone sealant instead.
