New GPS with DAB radio wanted

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __ MX5 I Roadster 2014
  2. I’m based near: __Weymouth
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __GPS and radio replacement

My MX5 Has an FM radio that works very poorly down here in Dorset. I’d like someone to recommend a replacement with DAB radio that will fit perfectly into my existing dashboard, and comes with all the fittings required.

There is a huge range of 7" touch screen aftermarket units available that will fit an MX5.
Most of them have Android Auto and Apple Carplay included so you can use google maps or waze for navigation.

Basically you need :

  1. A head unit
  2. A Facia plate and wiring adaptor ( with steering wheel control adaptor )
  3. A DAB dongle with DAB aerial

The Chinese head units are pretty cheap now.
This is my 2006 sport with an Eonon head unit fitted

@Squibnocket1 - has just had an Atoto unit fitted to his NC2

Looks good, thanks a lot

As mentioned by CBRDEANO
Not used it a great deal yet as I walk to work but, its great, does what I need it to do and updates the interior somewhat

Thanks. That looks eactly what I want. Can you tell me where you bought it?

I bought it off eBay, you’ll need other items too like a fascia fitting kit, a dab dongle if you want too. I bought the Dab dongle but, I can also get dab through my phone :man_facepalming:

Okay thanks. I think I’ve found one that includes everything, a bit pricey but it’s what I want

I have fitted the Atoto A6 PF 7" in my nc. £120 from Atoto uk via Ebay, referb unit with 12 months waranty. Surround from Ali express £13.50.
Utterly blown away by what this then gives you, including fully functional and customisable steering wheel controls. This was the deciding factor that meant I went for this model.
DAB enabled which meant an additional spend of around £15 for standard DAB+ add on unit with antenna.
Now have gps from the unit or from the phone, FM &DAB+ , wi-fi if close enough to router, bluetooth, hands free phone calls, spotify, and just about any other google playstore app I want to stick on it.

Unbelievable value for money considering functionality, it really is a tablet set up for in-car entertainment, plus a very easy install. Just check out a couple of the youtube videos before you start for info on making up additional connections in the harness cabling for the steering wheel controls.

Great! Thanks Brewgoat
