Hi! I’ve just joined the club today so I did not get the membership card yet. Can I join the event tomorrow if I have just my membership number?

As I understand it, new membership cards have a bar code on the back - this is what will be scanned, if they are using a bar code scanner. In you case, it might be more complicated, meaning you may have to pay the entrance fee for non-members, but head straight to the Club Membership tent and tell them your number, and if they accept that, then you should receive a refund of the fee paid (one way or another) If you received an email from Membership then I’d suggest printing a copy, and bring it with you for proof.
You are listed on here as a member, which confirms your standing, but while we accept you are a member, the gate may not - without a club card.
It’s not about the money, I just want to join the rest of the members for the day
As Gerry says, if you’ve got email confirmation of your membership, with the number on, bring it along.
I’m sure you’ll get in and don’t doubt that they will have had to deal with similar situations before. I.E new members not having received their documentation in time for an event.
Must happen quiet often, I’d have thought.

Added - We don’t stick non-members (or anyone who pays to get in) in a fenced enclosure, we don’t do things like that! I wasn’t making a point that you would have to pay, I was merely pointing out that’s the worst that could happen, but as Doug’s pointed out it’s been an ongoing minor problem for years. At one time, we had print-outs of current membership lists, but with several thousand members life became hectic for anyone trying to find a member on that list - hence the bar code data, which should mean no printed lists. The bar code should be bang up to date, lists were always several days out of date, so it’s an improvement all round for admin and members too - no long delays trying to find someone on a printed list. However, as I said earlier, no card - no code, you need proof of membership, especially when it’s two days before the actual event.
I just wanted to reassure you that you can mix and talk to anyone, member or not. We ae all a friendly bunch.
