New member from Whitstable, about to buy MX-5

Hi
I have been on this forum for 4 day and found the members really helpful.
My name is Byron and I am a retired Design Technology teacher. I have owned older vehicles for the past 40 year, with 1930’s MGs and then moved on to classic bikes about 20 years ago. I and have had an interest in an MX5 for several years and now that I have finished renovating my new home the time is right. Unfortunately my best friend died about 5 years ago and he has a 1991 car which I am thinking of buying from his wife. As of this point I have no understanding of the MX5 issues, mechanics, and the various models, so a real " green horn" so to speak who is keen to learn.

Oh and we really like photos of MX-5’s here and this forum makes it very easy to share them so why not show us your pride and joy too?

Happy Posting!

Hi Byron,
Welcome to the paid up side of the club. All you need to know is ‘rust’, ‘rust’ and more ‘rust’ every thing else is plain sailing. Start with an MOT history search and watch a few You Tube videos by these chaps. The MX5 Restorer Almost Daily VLOG 01 - YouTube
