Good evening everyone and thankyou for accepting me in to this group.
I bought a 2008 NC 2 weeks ago, I new it needed some tlc but up on a garage ramp today a few hole were found around the rear subframe which I need some guidance and support on.
I really want to keep the car and happy to do most of the servicing myself but the underside is beyond my skill set.
I had a drive down to Salford Christie’s today in preparation for radiotherapy and had the roof down, sun was out and I loved every second of my drive. The trip to the garage left me a little deflated so hopefully I can get it sorted.
From NB 2.5 [2005] owner in Staffs. Had Bullit since 2007 and got the shock of my life when she first needed welding 2019 [where did them holes come from all of a sudden ]
As T_J_P correctly observed ‘They all need welding eventually’
Bullit has had her cills done and undersealed and is currently waiting to get booked in for rear wheel arches and a respray [life scars]
But I wouldn’t want any other car …….even though one member referred to his 5 as ‘Miss Money Pit’
‘Affordable’ equates to ‘how long is a piece of string ‘ here amongst us owners ……..some of us happy to spend ££££ ‘restoring, renovating and carrying out personal modifications’
Owning a 5 can become an addiction !

Thanks for the reply I’m only 3 weeks in and feel the addiction creeping out n, whether it’s driving or just going outside to was and polish. I love having a tinker and can see myself sinking some money in her to keep her on the road. I hope you are well on the road to a full recovery. Blue skies and twisty roads ahead
