Looking to purchase an MX-5 - if anyone knows of any decent ones with a budget of circa 5k let me know. Location wise - Cotsworlds/Reading/Oxford/London area I’m looking at

Not fussed. Mk2/2.5 or 3

Don’t know if it’s deserved or not but 2.5s seem to have a but of a reputation for rust

They all do, you just have to find a good one thats not been exposed too much. My 2.5 is spotless

Quite right Jimmy - you will soon see if a 2.5 has been loved or not. My 05 Sport is in lovely condition because I love it too much to let it deteriorate - so any rust has been sorted quickly and it has had an expensive rustproofing job. Unloved ones will stand out like a sore thumb! Happy hunting!
