Morning everyone ,my name is Bec and ive recently aquired a 2002 triology - Number 317 of 333 ,its currently at the body shop having the lower sills done and some light bodywork touch ups. Im really excited to get it on the road and attend some meet ups and drive outs ,i sit in the middle of the central south and the kent area so unsure which one to tag onto ,maybe both haha i have attached a photo of when i first got the car - so very dusty ! Hopefully i can follow up with some great photos. Look forward to coming to some meets, partically interested in the goodwood jap classic !
Welcome to the club. As you say, you can receive information from both areas by choosing on your membership page. South Central have regular meets which are listed on the Events Calendar. Come along and meet us.
Thank you Dipstick i will check out your calender ,im hoping to be on the road by the 7th July
Welcome from Hertfordshire.
Congrats on purchase/membership from fellow [female?] NB 2.5 1.8 owner in Staffs
Bet you canāt wait to give it a good polish once itās back from the shop [sills replacement normal for this age of MX-5]
Welcome
Hey Bullit2005 , thank you !
Im super excited to get it back from the bodyshop, gove it a good clean up and do a few miles with the wind in my hair (yes female) .
I have heard they are notorious for some rust ! Be interested in seeing your beast
Welcome! Looks very nice and sure to be a lot of fun.
Hi Bec
Where do I start ?
Yepā¦notorious for some rust but your body shop should advise you on this if more than the cills need doing
Got Bullit in 2007 aged 18 months and she spent 3 years in Whitby in sight of the North Sea [salt].
Then neglected by me due to āLife, the Universe and Everythingā so ended up having to be welded and undersealed plus her cills and wheel arches done. She wasnāt garaged until 2019. Iām currently saving me pennies to have her resprayed and to deal with any superficial surface rust and ālife scarsā e.g. she was keyed at one point !
Meanwhile, became ācream-crackeredā, part disabled old lady so negotiated with the manager of my local hand car wash that he would use my
AUTOGLYM products after giving her power wash etc. I just let him loose on everything but the Mohair Soft Top
After a bit of a lecture regarding my feeble last attempt [until I explained the arthritis/oesteoarthritis and having no elbow power any more]ā¦he worked on Bullit himself and did a grand job sayingā¦bring her back and Iāll do your engine bay and dirt around the petrol cap
So think I can let him loose on the Mohair now Iāve experienced his professionalism and his willingness to use my Autoglym products
Then I was going to take pics to upload to site
But darn Life, the Universe & Everything got in the way again [Club Rules - no Politics or Religion] with removal of Pensioner Winter Fuel Payment and threat to my PIP Disability Benefits [Letter to MP]
Bullit is classed as my Disability Vehicle by the DVLA because I became disabled after purchase
Now OK re Winter Fuel Payment/PIPā¦where was I before all the STRESS ā¦
Taking her back to cleaner and a ride out [wind in my hairā¦still have some ] to recommended body shop to check on cost of a respray
One of these days will also work out the tech to get pics of her up on the site
Have you thought of a name for her/him yet ?
Iām a bit biased but I think youāve purchased the best of the Fives and I always went for black cars until I got orange Bullit
Fab folk on the Forumā¦anything and everything you need to know plus discussions on varying topics under Life, the Universe & Everything [except politics and religion]

Hi Bec welcome and I agree with bullit nbs are my favourite as well. You have yourself a fine car there, love the black (my other car Pierre le Peugeot is black) my āLittle Redā Arizona stole my heart tho looking forward to seeing you out and about!
Havenāt sussed out to get pics on here either yet
I canāt load pics from my phone either. I send them to my email address, open on my PC and copy and paste on here, works every time.
Thank you Barnetfair1 will give that a try, must now get nice pics of Little Red. Am a bit self conscious for him as havenāt had him long and thereās a couple things itād like to sort. Everyoneās 5 seems so shiny and perfect on here
Hi Vixter & Little Red
Great name
āSelf conscious for him ā¦ā¦ā¦couple of things Iād like to sort outā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦Everyone 5 seems so shiny and perfect on hereā
Exactlyā¦ā¦..when Bullit is looking good enough for me to post pics of her then I feel sure Iāll be motivated to work out how to do loading of pics up to Forum
There is no right or wrong here re posting picsā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.as and when you feel itās right for you and Little Red
Donāt feel pressuredā¦ā¦ā¦.

You shouldnāt feel any pressure to upload, but itās always good to see the ābefore and afterā picās.
Thank you so much! Was a little worried that it might be thought I was being āstand off ishā. Hopefully Iāll get some good pics this weekend. It being proper top down weatherā:grinning_face:
I hadnāt thought of that at all! Thanks again Barnetfair1š
āStand off ishā
Not at all ! The site can be somewhat over-whelming at first [especially if you follow the thread āwhat have you done to your five todayā], but Iāve been a member since 2019 and believe me when I say that even regular posters who do unbelievable work on their own fives are perfectly happy to ask for help when even they get stuck on an issue
BarnetFair1 is correct though that posters love the ābefore and afterā pics
The important thing is you enjoy Little Red in this top down weather
Many fives are a āwork in progressā [Bullit included] whether you just want to do a ācouple of thingsā or add modifications extraordinaire
