I am a new member to the club and also new to MX5 ownership…
On 29th December 2008, I took delivery of a Mk3 2.0i Sport in gleaming Highland Green Mica with Tan leather interior.
Since then I have added a few “extras” -
The Delear fitted Eibach suspenion lowering kit, a few bits of interior bling to the Heater dials and ventilation vents and I added the Factory Veneer dash panel- not to everyones taste I know.
Having owned a 5 litre TVR Chimaera in the past I am astounded at the performance the MX5 2.0i Sport provides and the steering aNd handling is much better than the TVR! The Eibach suspension mod is amazing, it has transformed the look and the feel of the car.
Next thing on my list is a trip to WIM iin Hemel Hempstead to get the geometry set up correctly.
I hope to attend plenty of club meetings and gatherings. So keep a look out for my Mk3 registration number MX5 5HAD
Welcome,
Get yourself down to WIM soon - you will be truely astounded at how good a car it really is once you have it soerted. It should come like that from the factory but does not.
Best money you will spend on it.
That was the explanation. IIRC stands for If I Remember Correctly. Like IM(NS)HO (In My (Not So) Humble Opinion) or BBIAB (Be Back In A Bit) or … well, I could go on!
But I won’t. ¬_¬
Oh, and the important bit! Welcome, MX5 5HAD! I’m fairly new too - picking my car up in a couple of hours - but the one you’ve got sounds fantastic. Green with a tan interior was what I wanted when I first started looking at '5s, although I’ve gone for green and black in the end. The mods sound good too, and I’m sure you’re going to have a lot of fun with it! My car’s had the WIM tweaks done to it, and by the looks of it, the previous owner was very good about keeping receipts, so when I pick it up I’ll have a look to see how much it cost.
