Leaving work today, pressed my key fob to open the boot and nothing happened. Pressed the button on the rear bumper to open the boot, nothing happened. Tried opening the doors with key fob, indicators flashed but didn’t open the door. I ended up unlocking the door with the key. Started the engine then turned it off and key fob working as normal again. Am I missing a feature or is something wrong?
Key Fob didn’t lock my 2016 ND yesterday so I locked it with the key (from the fob).
CAME BACK TO A DEAD CAR after 5 hrs - I could unlock the car with the manual key.
Tried the brake clutch thing in the hand book - nothing no internal warning/ start lights - suspected battery - so rang AA. They were brilliant - less than 40 mins wait. Checked key fob and battery - found locking fault on key fob, but no charge in the battery!
He got his quick start out and started the car - on the button, but still low reading across the terminals. Apparently the AA guy explained that because I manually locked the car, the back ground electrics continued to drain the battery (9 years old!)
The fuel gauge, however, read zero - I knew it was not out of fuel, but felt at a loss - then gradually the gauge crept up over 20 mins to 40 miles range.
AA sent me their battery/fob readings on the app!
Got home OK (refuelled just in case) and have ordered a new battery and a replacement key fob. Car now on C-tek - so I can get it to the main dealer OK!
