Hello everyone. I purchased my 2.0 Sports Graphite MX5 a month or so ago. When I saw this one I knew I wanted it - travelled all the way from Norwich to Blackpool to get it!
It has a BBR Super 200 tune but is essentially stock apart from that. I fitted a Sony head unit with Android Auto as the OEM one was awful, and have also put in the smart top roof module.
I am new to MX5s but have had a bunch of sports cars, a couple of MK2 MR2s, an MGB, VX220 so very used to tinkering with cars. I’m hoping to take it on track this year when the weather is better.
Welcome to the Owners Club and hopefully to the local branch of Norfolk Fives . We meet third Wednesday of the month starting on 19th March at the Bird in Hand, Wreningham , just south of Norwich.
That’s a super edition car in a great colour you’ve got. We’ll see you in March.
Lovely car. Really like the colour. Hopefully will see it in the flesh at the bird in hand during the year. I only bought mine in November 2024. Im really looking forward to the better weather. Enjoy it. Im certainly enjoying mine.
Stunning, congrats. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a graphite car and yours with the BBR 200 kit is just fantastic. If you get bored quickly let me know
Any plans for the suspension?
Also, if you don’t mind me asking, where did you see it advertised? I must be missing a trick as I didn’t see that car up for sale. I’m scouring the usual AT, ebay, pistonheads etc. I don’t have Facebook though.
Plans for the suspension is to get coilovers. I also want to refresh some parts underneath. I’m going to replace all the bolts and cover them with a fluid film product we use at work which is very effective against corrosion and maybe change out the bushes too.
I found the car on AutoTrader. It was only up for a few days before I phoned the dealer up and placed a deposit. I think I got a reasonably good deal as I don’t think he realised how expensive the BBR kit is. They were a posh dealership selling mostly big Beamers and Porsches so I don’t think he looked into it too much (someone traded my MX5 in for a newish Boxster apparently).
The Norfolk area is a great area. As David said we meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Bird in hand Wreningham. Members arrive from 7.00 pm we would recommend booking a table if you want food, monthly meets stop Jan & Feb.
The monthly meets get very busy bringing in over 70 members on a regular basis. The Norfolk Five’s are a great bunch and are a very active group. if you come along to the March meet you will see all that is planned for this year.
Welcome that looks lovely and sound’s like you’ve bagged a good un. I also have an NC, Great car, std apart from a few essential enhancements ie Meister R Zeta Coilovers (■■■ what a difference) MX5 things roof controller, updated door derlins, Dave fab coolant tank, stubby radio aerial, Cobalt rear silencer .i have also removed the pointless sound induction tube thingy.but engine std.
Hope to bump into at some point.
