Hi - I’m an excited new owner of a 03 plate Nevada in strato blue.
She’s only had 55k of adventures and I intend to add many more!
I am an MX-5 convert across from Triumph, as previously had a gorgeous Spitfire & a beautiful yellow Stag. So I’m used to turning heads alongside coping with my share of sill rust!
My Nevada seems in pretty original condition which I love and has a long MOT. Changing rear tyres this week and having brakes checked before any longer drives.
Any suggestions of trusted sympathetic garages in the Nottingham or Derby area?
Sadly the Spitfire lost an argument with a Fiesta on the M1 near East Midlands airport. Thankfully we were all ok but I still hate that section of the motorway.
Looks excellent. Check whether cam belt has been changed, if possible. If not budget to do it sooner than later. My Nevada, sold in 2015 for a Kendo, benefitted from changing the HT leads. In truth I preferred it to the Kendo, which is much more civilised. If you can’t find a good specialist in the Nottingham area, we have a good one down here in Essex!
Welcome to the forum from another Triumph owner. I’ve had a V reg 1500 Spitfire and an M reg Stag which I sold many years ago but still miss, I’ve still got an M reg TR6 which I’ve had for 40 years and isn’t going anywhere.
There’s a wealth of knowledge on here so most question can be answered.

The pics I posted of my Spit was after I personally ‘fiber-glassed’ a hole in her boot, undersealed her myself and replaced all her carpets [back in the olden days in my mid twenties when I was less ‘cream-crackered’]
Then I lost my job and had to sell her
She was purchased by a bloke for his daughter who’d just passed her test
A couple of months later, I’d got a new job and thought I’d just check on the Spit to see if I could buy her back
Well………..daughter had ‘lost an argument’ with something…….the whole of the back end was completely stoved in
Gutted after all my work on her
Fab pics of your Stag
Think you will thoroughly enjoy owning an NB after a Spit…………I mean no frozen horse hair in the seats come winter [like sitting on a plank of wood]…….and if you have the right soft top……heated rear window !
Welcome to the club wishing you many smiles per mile in your lovely Nevada. A couple of years ago I met Steve and Ali from MX-5 Restorations in Ilkeston and they did a superb job restoring my slightly older ‘02 S-VT. I have had no hesitation taking my Madge back, from London, every couple of months for servicing. Obvs I am a high mileage user. They usually have an open Saturday morning if you’d like to just pop a long and check them out.
I bought my Spitfire after it had had a slight argument with something hard! I think one of the wheels must have come off because there were scrapes on the chassis and only 3 nuts on each wheel.
My parents couldn’t believe what I’d bought when it arrived on the drive!
Once the bonnet was off it looked much better and only needed two front chassis legs and a bonnet.
