Hi Everybody, I would like to introduce myself as the new Motorsport Co-Ordinator for the OC.
My Name is Peter McNicol from the Norfolk Five’s. I am co-owner of the track car RED5 which some of you might have seen on the circuits.
My back ground is similar to Jon Earp, in that I have a military background with 30 years in the RAF. My Motorsport experience is mainly in 12 years of Karting, with 3 years Super One in the eighties. As much as I would love to race again, I still have to take my family life into consideration.
I have a Passion for Raising Money for Mission Motorsport and I am looking to continue doing so. So please do not be surprised to see them at some of our events.
On a serious note, I would like to thank Jon Earp For his hard work and dedication towards motorsport within the MX5 OC. It will be a hard act to follow and I will do my utmost to do so. I wish Jon and His Family all the best for the future.
Heads up for next year and dates for your diary. Blyton 2015 will be held on June 20th/21st.
Thanks for stepping up to the mark and taking on the role on Motorsport Co-ordinator.
I met you at Blyton this year and had a go in RED 5. Your enthusiasm and motorsport experience was obvious and I’m pleased that the Owners Club has found such a strong replacement for Jon Earp.
Hi Peter
Was good to see you at the AC meeting, well done for coming forward and thanks for continuing in Jon’s superb work for the club, I am sure you will be equally superb and nice to see you with mission Motorsport excellent work long may it continue well done and look forward to Blyton 2015.
Peter
Many Congratulations to you.
I am personally so pleased that you have been offered this brilliant opportunity, especially you.
And from my experience of being with you on the track (usually hanging on with white knuckles and adrenalin off the scales) you were always were so patient when you were instructing me "faster faster " you would say, when I thought I couldn’t go any faster I did and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Then one day at Woodbridge, after I had some professional instruction in Red 5 you said “get out on the track then” I said “what on my own” you said “yes go”
I will never ever forget that day, it was so exilerating and it took a long time that day for my adrenalin level to come down to a normal level.
Keep your eyes peeled for events next year, currently negotiating discounts for track days for club members as well as other things. All being well I am hoping to have a club stand at the Auto Sport Show in January. Taster for Blyton will be out in the new year that should give people a better idea what to expect for next years event at Blyton.
