Hello everyone, I’m a brand new owner of a rather gorgeous 2020 Sport Tech. Only took delivery of it a couple of days ago and still figuring it out.
I think there is supposed to be an automatic wiper setting which is activated when it detects rain. I’ve selected it, but in spite of rain today, it does not work. Can anyone suggest why it doesn’t work? I’ve tried different sensitivity settings with no success.

You have presumably set it on the screen, but have you moved the wiper stalk down one notch to the Auto position?
Yes, I have moved the wiper stalk down one notch. What is the screen?
Have you turned the setting on in the menu on MZD connect? What does happen with the wiper stalk in the first position? Do the wipers work in the other 2 positions? If you do have it set to on in MZD connect and switch it to off what happens in position 1 then? Do they behave like normal intermittent wipers?
Sorry lots of questions. A common reason for the rain sensitive wipers not to work is a missing “pad” that should be fitted between the rain sensor and the windscreen, this can get missed if a windscreen has been replaced.
Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I’m not sure how to turn it on in Mazda connect. Sorry to be so clueless.
In one of the settings menus, probably vehicle settings.
It is worth mentioning that some of these ‘Personalisation’ features need the ignition to be on for them to be accessible.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. When the car has been fixed I’ll try them.
Did this get fixed? I have the same issue on my 2018 RF, the box is ticked on the screen, the wiper setting is in position 1 and nothing happens, if I untick the box then they become intermittent wipers and work fine, just not auto-sensing. I’ll check for the pad on the windscreen later.
