Hi, I picked up a beautiful 2006 MX-5 Sport with the Bose 6 CD changer, and am looking at replacing it. For a while now I have been driving more modern cars, so have been out of the loop regarding car stereos since my younger days.
I did a search and many results come up, so I am sorry if this kind of thread gets boring, but I just want to be sure about things.

So my first question really is, should I be considering anything else instead?

For mk3 earlier model. TBH, I’ve used both on the two different model year cars and not sure of the difference? Better to buy the one listed for your car though ![]()
The one I fitted into the car pictured in my avatar was actually non Bose, same kit without the additional speaker dropper connector, shown in the pic linked to as the short separate harness with the black ‘block’ in the middle.
i had a pumpkin double din in the mk3, Android 8.0, good unit, nothing wrong with the xtrons one either, very similar units.
