New Owner Mazda MX5 1.8i SE RED

Hello everyone

I am the owner of Mazda MX5 1.8i SE 2009. I don’t know how it happened that I bought it. I wanted to buy a car to drive every day but to give some pleasure.

The car sat in the yard for a long time before I bought it.
At the moment I say that despite the considerable amount of work that awaits me to bring the car in order. It will give me a lot of fun with pampering the car.

Greetings to all MX5 Owners

Welcome along, nice looking car from the picture!

What work does it require?

Hello IanH

I need to clean it first. In the picture he is standing at my work. It looks quite good.

Needs to protect the trunk lid in the place of lighting against further corrosion. The front hood also has some minor marks I need to do. Polishing the car because it has scratches that can still be removed.

I have mechanical problems with the car and I need to take care of it (gear shifting problems, and way too much fuel).

What I will do next with the car, I have no idea, maybe I will add TURBO, everything will come with time.

Looks good.
The corrosion on the boot lid above the number plate lights is a common problem, as is corrosion in the rear wheel arches where they meet the cills. The big question for MXs of this vintage is ‘but what’s it like underneath?’ I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

The condition of the car underneath is good. As for the wheel arches, too. In the meantime, I’m going to clean up the car and check it thoroughly. At the moment I have to go through the mechanical and electrical issues with the car.
