Got my retro switches from Dave-M on Nutz in the post yesterday and didn’t waste any time getting to work.
Modded the top hazard switch with one that lights up red when the hazards are turned on.
I’m really pleased with the result! Suspect it may lead to a full-on retro interior theme going on, though. I’m going to work on the electric window switches next…
I was going to polish it, but I’ve a sniff at a KG Works brushed console panel so am undecided at the moment! When I get bored I’ll probably polish one side of it just to see what it looks like.
I like my black switch plate and black heater panel, chrome does nothing for me, the only chrome bits on my '5 are the door handles and HT mounting plates. I don’t mind stainless though
For domed nuts you should try B&Q, I know they sell the smaller ones but am not 100% sure if they sell the larger ones. Stainless Steel domed nuts are available on the Internet if you can find them.
I’ve tried everywhere and I’m blowed if I can find any in M12, and I have looked!
I might settle for a 20mm anodised washers - red for hazard, blue for pop up. If you come across a source of round knurled nuts in 12mm size then I’d be very interested though!
Thanks Geoff, yes, I’d found them. Have already mailed them to see if they’ll split a pack and do me a set of M12 washers.
You wouldn’t think it’d be this hard to get knurled, round nuts, would you? The only stuff I’ve found are Gibson Les Paul toggle nuts, but that seems a little excessive!
