New retro console switches

Got my retro switches from Dave-M on Nutz in the post yesterday and didn’t waste any time getting to work.

Modded the top hazard switch with one that lights up red when the hazards are turned on.

I’m really pleased with the result!  Suspect it may lead to a full-on retro interior theme going on, though.  I’m going to work on the electric window switches next…

 I can feel a stampede coming onCoolThumbs up

 CHARGE…I Agree

Yep, fitted mine last week, didnt do the light mod though, but I did polish the plate and it now looks like chrome. Love itBig Smile

I was going to polish it, but I’ve a sniff at a KG Works brushed console panel so am undecided at the moment!  When I get bored I’ll probably polish one side of it just to see what it looks like.

The OE ones

been looking for M12 anodised washers or round nuts to dress these up.  No joy so far…!

Hmm

I like my black switch plate and black heater panel, chrome does nothing for me, the only chrome bits on my '5 are the door handles and HT mounting plates. I don’t mind stainless though

 For domed nuts you should try B&Q, I know they sell the smaller ones but am not 100% sure if they sell the larger ones. Stainless Steel domed nuts are available on the Internet if you can find them.

 What are all those switches below your radio for, show or something else.{#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}

 Maybe they flash to the beat of the music{#emotions_dlg.confused}

Cheers PA.

I’ve tried everywhere and I’m blowed if I can find any in M12, and I have looked!

I might settle for a 20mm anodised washers - red for hazard, blue for pop up.  If you come across a source of round knurled nuts in 12mm size then I’d be very interested though!

 Ejector seat?  Oil slick?

More worryingly - the steering wheel appears to be fitted on the wrong side!

Haven’t looked at the site in detail but these guys have some nice stuff

 Thanks Geoff, yes, I’d found them.  Have already mailed them to see if they’ll split a pack and do me a set of M12 washers.

You wouldn’t think it’d be this hard to get knurled, round nuts, would you? The only stuff I’ve found are Gibson Les Paul toggle nuts, but that seems a little excessive!

Who said anything about it being my car?

 It’s OK, I’ve fixed it for you.

Only slight problem is your pedals and the gearbox layout are mirror imaged, shouldn’t take to much getting used to.Smile
