New Track - RAF Wittering Oakham Nr, Peterborough with Javelin

Just about there now exhaust on tomorrow night and done.

Ken

I thought it sounded great without the back box.

Not sure Colin would be too happy at Javelin though.

I am not going to make this one. Hopefully there will be another chance to join you all on track this year.

Have fun and hopefully there might be a few pictures.

Good stuff - see you at the layby!

I hope it’s good weather as I’m almost running 205 profile slicks at the back after Snetterton!!!

Will anyone have or need any axel stands? I have a couple i could bring if needed. Fingers crossed I won’t. If there is no need to bring I won’t. Have seen the track layout could be interesting if wet. Have just loaded up the car, now off to get the cans filled with fuel. Are we in a hanger? Or are we likely to get wet??

If anyone has any ideas on might we might need.

See you all in the morning 6.30ish Sleep

Paul

Hi Paul

I have no space at all but have never used Axle stands at any of these events.

It’s an airfield and I can’t imagine we will have use of a hanger, normally we are out in the elements. I will have my tent which we can put most of the stuff in and will provide some shelter if it rains.

I think between us we should have everything

don’t forget your mug

see you in morning

Kevin

 Hi Guys

we dont normally have any hangers i am afraid you are left to the elements as Kev said. Hope to see you all there as although were not working this one, thought we would pop up and take a look.

Never mind. We shall just have to rough it Big Smile Thanks Kev i won’t bother with the axel stands, try not to forget the mug.

Chez don’t forget to pop over and say hi.

See you all in the morning

Paul

Just to Say, thankyou to all guys that attended the trackday at RAF wittering  today for the fast lap rides and making me feel welcome in the paddock,  I really liked the layout from the passenger seat looks like it suits the MX5. The corner at the top end looked challenging

Hope you all enjoyed your day,

Thanks again Thumbs up

Gav

Just want to say thanks for another really good trackday.

Firstly the track, although I found it very tough to start (Ken nearly got lost and the iffy weather didn’t help) but after a while getting use to the layout I really enjoyed it. With a little smoothing over in a few areas the surface would also be first rate. It was nice to see a number of cars from our area and quite a few MX5’s. Driving standards were also pretty good weren’t they Ian Stick Tongue Out.

Thanks to everyone and Gav it was a pleasure.

Paul

Well that was a brilliant day, great to have a group of like minded people/mx5s together in the pits, and the track was superb after i got over my cone blindness Confused and remembered where it went, great surface and kind to the tyres, well done Javelin.

Ken

What a great day.

The damp start made it interesting but I think that helped me learn the layout at a slightly slower pace. I would highly recommend this as a great place to start your track days as it has lots of runs offs if you find yourself out of your depth. Only 27 cars turned up so there was never an issue with track time.

5 Eastern Region members went and it was like a mini meet in the pits.

Great circuit, very well run by Javelin as always.

I definitely echo Kev’s comments - great day - nearly 2 tanks of fuel and 4 new tyres required!

My tiny video camera stuck on the front number plate took some great footage (especially for something that cost £11!). I have never tried to upload video onto Youtube before so this may not work so pls bear with me! Not sure how to change the date and time code at the bottom either!
