Have you read this thread? Much confusion rules there…
However, my 25AE is fine with a set of Chinese valves I bought though amazon and then were fitted by NickD.
At the time when I bought my set my research suggested that most active TPMS are switched on by the air pressure in the tyres, and then stay on for the “ten year” life in the battery. eg take it up to 40+ psi as when fitting the tyre, then back down to the correct pressure. But I can’t find the reference for that now.
Only then does one need to synchronise the senders with the car’s pickups, and there should be a pickup adjacent to each wheel. In theory, if one follows the Mazda procedure in the manual all should be well, the car will learn which sender is on which wheel. I’ve yet to find out what happens when one moves the wheels around to equalise tyre wear, but I think the procedure should sort it. This is pp 5-34, 5-35 in my 25AE owner manual.
yes the old wheels had tpms units in… now sold but I had been driving for around 20 mins before the dash warning light came on so I thought it might be just on wheel/tyre that was low but I checked them all and they are O.k
Yep I done that but its still not registered so I parked up and taken the neg terminal off the battery over night I will rerun from the beginning tomorrow I had a similar fault on my RX-8, but thanks for the info I read that on my hand book as well …try again in the morning …just a bit weird …
Blimey, you not having a lot of luck with your wheels at the moment.
Green Flag turned up to try and fix my none starting car and he did this.
Did it work? No, but might on yours.
(Mine was a dodgy connection on the power train control module).
Apparently, it removes all residual current from all the systems to start again.
Remove the key from the ignition.
Disconnect both battery cables from the battery, removing the negative cable first.
Isolate the battery from the battery cables. …
Connect the positive and negative battery “cables “together for approximately 5 minutes.
Hopefully you get it sorted.
That’s weird. I’ve changed wheels about 10 times and not had this issue. It goes off after a few miles if they come on (when dropping tyre pressures for track or swapping wheels). They genuine ones yeah?
Worth a look to see if they gave the right ones. Might have used an nc version which are cheaper but different frequency. Guess work though, see how you get on. I didnt touch a thing on mine, sorts itself out.
SO I found out what frequency my TPMS sensor’s are they should be 433MHZ the ones fitted to my new wheels are 315MHZ the tyre shop just held the reader to each tyre even throw they where transmiting my system would never pick this up so I have had new 433 TPMS fitted within a mile they have all auto logged in and the warning light is out now for a refund that should pay for the MOT Tuesday next week
the Frequency is on the bottom left of the picture
No they did not had a long conversation with Clive , I sorted it out will be calling him tomorrow with an up date as they do not sell the Mazda ones any more so ended up getting the sensors from MX5 parts hence why I asked if we had a discount code well chuffed the lights out …!
pleased with the 215/17/45 tyres on the new konig wheels
