What modifications you can do depends on the rules of the competition entered, and which class you ut yourself in.

When I did it, I just ut in a rollbar and a seat, but I was running in a production class. The car wasn’t particularly competitive, not a lot I could do about that, and I wasn’t into pushing the patience of the scrutineers, like the boys in the Novas and Minis would, who generally ruled by class.



I fitted a 6-point harness directly to the car, rear shelf, with spreader plates.

I think depending on the rules, fitting 13" wheels, and taking off the front disc dust shields, would give a gearing advantage on hillclimbs.

Ah, it’s a Voodoo.
Decent value at 35 dollars in America but less so by the time it’s been imported over here, sadly.
There’s a guy called the latheman who makes very reasonably priced gear knobs but he can’t make a ball shape, unfortunately.
So the choice seems to between Chinese at 15 quid or American at 50…
