I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on wheel paint code. I am looking to get my alloy wheels repainted, but I haven’t had any luck finding a paint code, so I would be grateful for any help
I would take the car to your refurbisher of choice and ask to match their swatches against the cars wheels.
Most decent places have sample cards available.
Most alloy wheels do not have a paint code. For any that do, it’s usually found as a sticker on the wheel which usually will have disappeared after a short time. You’ll also find that dealers will be unable to help even if you give them your VIN number.
Hi
The alloys on the Niseko Edition are Shadow Chrome , which has a base coat colour of Black & then has 5 coats of Silver applied on top before finishing with the clear coat lacquer.
I have just had a set totally refurbished & that was the exact procedure used & they are perfect.
One wheel was stripped initially & refurbished using the other wheel as the colour match ,it’s quite a longer process due to the slightly extra work involved.
Hope that helps …. Unfortunately I live in Manchester ,so too far for you to travel.
Good luck👍🏻
Thanks Steve.
Worth trying the wheel specialist. They are a franchise, but the branch in Leeds did an excellent job on my grazed BBS wheel despite not having the colour code. They had a comprehensive collection of colour cards to match the original. MX-5 OC members also get a discount. Locations here:
