No plate light area corrosion

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __3
  2. I’m based near: __Bradford
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Do the lights slide to one side in order to remove and access the corrosion, I don’t want to force them and do some damage ? Thanks, Bryan.

Here’s a video on utube of how to do it

Or an old credit card, all lights blank plates as shown slide it in from the left.
If you have a PRHT the boot lid around there will be rusting steel, Deal with as you would any rust with some rust converter after grinding as much away first with say a Dremel or what you have. If it’s a soft top car then it’s an aluminium boot lid, grind it back to bare metal and just prime and paint. Don’t forget to add a coat or two of lacquer to finish, don’t think Mazda ever did originally under there, well not much hence the corrosion.

Just completed mine (steel) Just as MickAP said.
Don’t forget to smear some rust converter then Waxoil on the inside of the skin; hopefully just surface rust as mine was. Had some pitting on the outside but nothing awful.
