I just had a red letter from dvla about my road tax, seems it expired on 31st December.
I’ve not had the v11 reminder, and from what I can see, it looks like dvla have scrapped them.
Has anyone else fallen foul to this.

If you haven’t done so already they expect you to set up an account
Then they hope you’ll set up a Direct Debit from it, no reminders will be issued with the DD in place.
If no DD in place then your email should pester you with reminder texts - but only after having set up the account!
and there’s a rip off, it costs more to tax via DD.
Only if you opt for a monthly or 6-monthly DD payment scheme.
If you go for a single annual payment via DD, it’s the same price…

I haven’t registered, so not opted to stop getting them, and I didn’t get a reminder mid December, just a red threatening letter today.
I do not pay by Direct Debit, and I did receive a paper V11 through the post a few days ago for my VED (which is due at end of January).

Same here. It was for a car other than my MX-5, but I received the reminder and paid in full with a card.
Technically mine was for my daily, my mx5 is currently on sorn for winter.
My son in law had the one for their mini which was due end of Jan. Definitely looks like the post is to blame.
Put a note in your diary. Same goes for MOT and insurance.
