After a year of kids, work and house repairs I have finally unpacked Molly from her hibernation.
Battery is all charged and connected, the beauty started first time. Small grumble from a bearing somewhere, not worrying about that just yet probably needs time to warm up and wear in.
Lights work, Indicators work, compressor for A/C works, but windows, horn and the fans are not playing the game. I have checked the fuse box under the drivers dash, all seems ok, had a quick look at the one in the engine, seems ok. Thats it, all out of ideas.
Are these all on the same relay? Could it have burned out?
It is not uncommon for a fuse to ‘look’ OK, but to have blown - safest option is to replace it with a known good, but a multimeter/continuity test is a safer bet.
When you say fans, do you mean the heater blowers, or the cooling/AC fans? (or the lot)?
I just popped them out and checked that way tbh, but you’re right, its a good idea to get the multimeter on them.
As far as the fans are concerned, both, nothing happens when you turn them on in the inside of the car, press the A/C switch and the engine revs up an you can hear the compressor doing its thing. Go into the engine bay and the fans for the AC and radiator seem to be ok, the one on the Left is spinning and the one on the right kicks in when its needed.
I was just wondering if the fans, horn and windows are all off the same fuse or relay?
BTW battery is fully charged, it had been on a trickle for 6 days.
