Noco genius 5 to charge Panasonic battery?

I have a mk1 1.8 with a Panasonic battery. It’s starting to get slow to start in this cold weather. Currently I only have access to a noco genius 5 charger it states its suitable for gel type batteries but has anyone else used one and on what mode.

Cheers
Tom

Imho, the charger will be fine but I would recommend getting your battery tested by a specialist battery supplier.
If it’s struggling it may be on its way out.

Thanks on the whole the battery is fine it’s just that the car is waiting to have a spring replaced so I cant drive it to give it a proper run to charge it and relying on just starting it for a bit. Just wanted something to try something to top it up encase it goes flat from the cold nights.

Fair enough.
I’m sure your charger will be fine.

Cheers will try it seems to be some things to watch with gel type batteries

Allegedly, its likely to be an AGM

Heres the manual

I have the Panasonic battery in my Mk 2 and whenever I park up I always attach my CTEK charger as it doesn’t get driven that much. I have always used the normal battery mode, equivalent to your 12V mode, and never had a problem.

That’s good to know
