The North West Norfolk Group are planning to travel to the National Rally at Sywell Airfield in a ‘Convoy’. We will be meeting at The Shell Garage on the Wisbech By-pass, (Post Code PE14 7BD) at 07:45hrs departing at 08:00hrs. If anyone from the region wishes to join our merry band you are more than welcome, either at the intial rendevouz point or at any point along the route. We have added the route we are intending to follow (below), and have also included approximate ETA’s a various ‘waypoints’ along the route, should you decide to do so…
From the rendevouz point:
- Take the 1st left at the roundabout onto A47 (Signposted A47 Peterborough)
- Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout, staying on the A47
- Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout, staying on the A47
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit (crossing the The River Nene). Signposted Peterborough A47
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Thorney Bypass, remaining on the A47
- At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Thorney Bypass A47
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto The Causeway remaining on the A47
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Eye Rd A47
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A1139
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit A1139
- At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Frank Perkins Parkway A1139
- Keep right to continue on Fletton Parkway A1139
- At the Fletton Parkway Interchange, take the 2nd exit onto A605 (approximate arrival time at the service area 08:30 to 08:40).
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A605
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A605
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on A605
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A605
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A14 slip road to Kettering (Approximate arrival time at Service Area 09:00 to 09:10
- Follow the A14. At junction 9, exit onto A509 towards Wellingborough
- Turn right onto Hilltop Rd B574
- Continue to follow B574
- At the roundabout, continue straight onto Hardwick Rd
- Continue onto Moonshine Gap
- Continue onto Sywell Rd*
- Arrive: Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northamptonshire, NN6 0BN (Approximate arrival time 09:40 to 09:50).
As we have our own Event Shelter / Area we will be allowed on site from 10:00 to ‘decorate’ the stand with flags and buntings etc etc. before the event opens at 10:30.
