Not car related, but flood related

We hope everyone is ok following the rainfall that’s come down?

Did you know that you can monitor water levels and check for flooding. The following example is a monitoring point near our home. The nearby streets were flooded yesterday afternoon. You can see many other locations.

Take care,
Ian & Carol-Ann

That newish website is already one of my bookmarks!

I used to use the environment agency one, but that now sends us to this new version which is quicker and easier.

We live near a “river”, essentially it’s a drainage trickle, but every ten years or so it wakes up and approaches flooding and every twenty or so it floods. It might well flood HS2 tunnel now being bored if it’s a twenty year event!
My property is now well protected, but one can only do so much.

Hon No.1 Daughter used to live near the flood line of the Severn in Bridgnorth, now much higher and further away she sleeps a lot better.

A friend’s back garden in Long Eaton near the Derbyshire/Notts boundary.

Hi Ian & Carol-Ann,
Thank you for posting this link, the info is much easier to find than where I previously used to look and the water level details are really informative.

It got too close for comfort here in sandiacre, my floating floor downstairs rose, 3 inches in the garage.
