Can anyone recommend a 5 friendly garage in the Nottingham area?
I have had the Mark 1 California for about 6 years now and have had a lot of the services, wheel alignments, MOTs and minor niggles sorted out by Steve at 5Speed…but he seems to have gone out of circulation.
Be interested in other people’s local experiences.

For MOT, service and odd repairs I use Highway Garage, off the main road between Beeston and Long Eaton, He looks after several MX5’s so familiar with them . Located opposite to a main Vauxhall dealer (Evans Halshaw I think) and shortly before the traffic lights that lead to the local shopping center and Swiney Way, which leads to the Army Barracks (Chilwell depot) and Tesco’s main local store. (you don’t need to know that!) Highway Garage does MOT’s in the morning and service in the afternoon, Phone number is 9256676, and the owner is Andrew Nudd.
Previously tried a closer garage, whose owner once owned an MX5, but the place is a s***hole and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
I did think about seeing Steve at 5speed, but local gossip said he was expensive, and Hucknall is a fair way to go from me - at Toton. Don’t know anywhere else, lived here for forty odd years, so out of the City and local knowledge.
No idea if that helps you at all? But I would recommend Andrew to anyone.

You may be sorted by now but I use Thrussington Garage (actually in East Goscote, just off the A46.) Mike there is a true MX5 enthusiast and very keen and honest. He races them too so knows them inside out.
