Nottingham mx5 specialist

I hope my geography is correct. Looking for a mx5 specialist in Nottingham any suggestions?

I’ve heard about 5 speed Pinxton, never used them though.

Never used them but read good reviews

In my experience the good reviews are well deserved. Nice people, know their MX5s.

Sport cars and spares of Shardlow Derbyshire a mile or so from castle Donnington so easy access from the m1 are a mx5 place that I recommend they do servicing and mot work they sell second hand and new parts. I have used them for about six years first for my boxster then I bought my nc 3.5 off them they are a good bunch of lads. Paul the owners been around Mazda for years.

Is that the same outfit as PM Sports cars?

Hi yes it is the owner Paul the same but other previous managements changed but they are still in the same location.

I forgot about them, used them for parts, close enough for me to collect from.
Never really thought about they offer services such as repair/service, they do.:+1:

Always worth a phone :grinning:

Pm sports cars in Shardlow closed down during covid. I go to MX5 restorations in Ilkeston. The guys are ace and will be able to give you some really good advise or point you in thr right direction.

I used them once, never again, left my bleed nipple open on front brake, got proper arsy when I complained about it

Which one, in Pinxton or Shardlow?

I’ve had similar with trusted garages (none of the above mentioned) loose wheel nuts is one.

I’m very happy to recommend Ilkeston’s MX5 Restorations. They’ve done great work for me, de-rusting, fitting exhausts and general services. I previously used PM Sports Cars (until they stopped doing servicing and pointed me to MX5 Restorations).

Your thoughts/experience will be very welcome. I’m actually not that far away from Ilkeston but never had the need to have any work carried out. It’s getting to the stage now I probably need others to carry out certain jobs, the old bones🥴

Been a Magpie for 24 months collecting loads of bits and pieces but never having the time or lift to do the work myself so I am going all in for s-vt for Montana interior swap, front and poss one rear wing, complete respray, new oem suspension arms, bushes and shocks, then water pump and and the little pipe that is prone to corrosion all the front oil seals, which should leave me with just the sensors to do in the fullness of time. Hope to pick the Madge up at the end of February subject to nothing else urgent cropping up and availability of any parts I have not managed to procure. Will let you know what I think when I get Madge back :sunglasses::+1:

Also consider Thrussington Garage, they are just over the border in Leicestershire. MX-5 specialists.

They did my last annual service on my NC and also did a complete strip, rust removal and under-seal job a few weeks ago, the bottom of my car is in better shape than the top now !
